About the Scholarship

The Ireland Fellows Programme is a prestigious fully funded scholarship programme funded by the Government of Ireland.

It offers outstanding early to mid-career professionals from eligible countries the opportunity to pursue a one-year Master’s degree at leading universities in Ireland.

The programme aims to develop future leaders by equipping talented professionals with advanced academic knowledge, leadership skills, and international exposure that will enable them contribute meaningfully to the development of their home countries.

For the 2027 academic session, applications are open to qualified applicants from Nigeria and Ghana.

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must:

• Be a resident national of Nigeria or Ghana.
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower (2:2).
• Have at least three (3) years of relevant work experience.

• Show commitment to contributing to the development of their country after completing the programme.
• Meet the admission requirements of their chosen Irish university.

Eligible Programmes

For Nigerian Applicants

Nigerian applicants may apply for the Roger Casement Fellowship in Human Rights, which supports eligible Master’s programmes in:

• Law
• Human Rights
• Governance

For Ghanaian Applicants

Applicants from Ghana may apply for eligible Master’s programmes in areas including:

• Agriculture
• Health
• Education
• Human Rights
• Engineering
• Business
• And other eligible disciplines.
