About The Program 

The Federal Ministry of Education (FME) is officially inviting applications for the 2026 TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) Initiative. This nationwide program is designed to empower Nigerian citizens with practical, high-demand skills to drive entrepreneurship and national development.

​About the Organization

The FME TVET Initiative is a flagship program of the Federal Ministry of Education aimed at closing Nigeria’s skills gap. By shifting the focus from academic theory to hands-on mastery (90% practical, 10% theoretical), the ministry aims to transform young Nigerians into entrepreneurs and skilled professionals. The initiative is fully funded by the Federal Government through the NELFund and aligns with the national “Renewed Hope” agenda for youth empowerment and job creation.

​Key Program Details:

• ​Application Date: Starting 13 April 2026.
• ​Duration: Choose between 6 Months (Short-Term Certificate) or 1 Year (Vocational Innovation).
• ​Coverage: Training centers available across all 36 States and the FCT.
• ​Certification: Graduates receive a National Certification recognized by employers nationwide.

​Training Areas Available:

​The program covers 8 specialized sectors with diverse trade options:

• ​Construction: Electrical Installation, Welding & Fabrication, Interior Design (Painting & Decoration), Floor Cladding & Tiling, Bricklaying & Concreting.
• ​ICT: Network System Installation, Computer Hardware & GSM Repair, Social Media Communications.
• ​Automotive: Motorcycle & Tricycle Repair, Vulcanizing, Auto-body Works (Panel Beating), Auto Mechanic, CNG Conversion & Maintenance.
• ​Creative Media: Film Production, Broadcasting Technical Services, Live Production, Immersive Technologies.
• ​Mechanical & Technical: Refrigeration & AC, Plumbing & Pipe-fitting, Woodwork & Carpentry, Furniture Making, Solar PV Installation.
• ​Agriculture: Mechanized Agriculture (Operations & Mechanics), Livestock Farming (Poultry, Bee Keeping, Animal Husbandry).
• ​Services: Fashion Design & Tailoring, Industrial Garment Manufacturing, Artisanal Textile Production, Beauty Therapy & Cosmetology, Tourism & Travel.
• ​Hospitality: Catering Services, Hospitality Training, Leather Works & Tannery (Shoe, Bag, and Leather finishing).

​Participant Benefits & Support:

​The Federal Government invests in every trainee through:

• ​Monthly Stipend: A total of ₦22,500 (₦17,500 for upkeep and ₦5,000 for transportation).
• ​Free Tuition: Fully funded training at accredited centers.
• ​Post-Graduation Support: Access to Starter Packs/Grants to begin your own business.
• ​Financial Access: Opportunities to apply for low-interest business loans (single-digit interest) after completion.

​Important Notices:

• Attendance: Full attendance is mandatory and is tracked via Biometric Verification.
• ​Stipend Eligibility: Payments are only made to trainees who meet the strict attendance requirements.
• ​Requirements: All applicants must provide their NIN and BVN for transparency and verification.
