2027 RAVE Scholarship in Germany

Scholarship on the management of cultural heritage and the transformation of museums and exhibition centres.

This scholarship enables cultural practitioners from countries on the DAC list to stay with host institutions.

Supported by the Alexander Rave Foundation and administered by the Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen (ifa), the scholarship aims to provide participants a chance to deepen their knowledge in cultural heritage management while engaging with international experts and professionals in Germany.

This prestigious program focuses on preserving, managing, and promoting cultural heritage through innovative approaches, sustainable development practices, and international cooperation.

Thus, the scholarship strengthens ifa’s contribution to creating worldwide interpersonal understanding and trust and to promoting democratic civil societies.

The focus is on transcultural dialogue and engaging with cultural heritage, collections and archive records. Funding is provided for mutual knowledge transfer and the creation of sustainable networks.

At the same time, the scholarship makes a contribution to supporting freedom in art and science, freedom of opinion and open debates.

Eligibility Requirement for the 2027 RAVE Scholarship

Applicants must:

  • Be from a country listed on the DAC List
  • Be working professionally in cultural heritage, collections, archives, or museum-related fields
  • Be one of the following:
    • Curator
    • Restorer
    • Cultural mediator
    • Culture manager
  • Have completed higher education or vocational training
  • Demonstrate strong English proficiency
  • Secure a non-commercial host institution in Germany
  • Develop a project proposal jointly with the host institution
  • Be available for an on-site stay in Germany during 2027
