Ventrae Integrated Services is recruiting a People/HR Intern to join its People Operations team in Lagos.
This role is ideal for an early-career professional who wants hands-on experience in recruitment, onboarding, HR administration, employee records management, training coordination, employee engagement, and general people operations.
The intern will provide administrative and operational support to the People Operations team and assist with the delivery of core HR services across the business.

About the Role
The People/HR Intern will support daily HR activities and contribute to processes that shape the employee experience.
This includes assisting with recruitment, employee onboarding, HR records, training activities, compliance tracking, employee engagement, and administrative support.
The role is suitable for someone who is proactive, organized, detail-oriented, discreet, and eager to learn how HR works in a structured business environment.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment Support
- Assist in posting job adverts on approved channels such as LinkedIn.
- Schedule interviews with candidates and coordinate calendars between applicants and hiring managers.
- Assist in verifying candidate documents and preparing starter packs.
- Conduct basic background checks and support compliance during recruitment.
Administrative Support
- Support the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date employee records in the HR Information System (HRIS).
- Support the offboarding process for exiting employees by coordinating exit formalities and updating HR records.
- Maintain HR trackers for employee confirmation, expenses, and employee benefits.
- Respond to routine employee queries and escalate issues where necessary.
Payroll and Compliance Support
- Support accurate tracking of statutory documentation and key employee information such as pension details.
- Support monitoring of key employment documents and timelines, including contract renewals and probation reviews.
Employee Engagement and Communication
- Support the organization of employee engagement events.
- Support the gathering of feedback on HR processes to identify areas for improvement.
Learning and Development / Operational Support
- Track training feedback and completion on the Learning Management System.
- Assist in tracking and monitoring vendors and service providers such as background check vendors and health insurance providers.
External HR Services Administrative Support
- Support the delivery of external HR services through administrative tasks.
- Assist with collecting and organizing documents.
- Enter and check data.
- Support scheduling for workshops, interviews, and training sessions.

Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- 0–1 year experience in an HR administration role.
- HR certification such as CIPM, SHRM, or equivalent is an advantage but not mandatory.
